  • The company has been launched thanks to a fundraising of 500.000 euros.
  • According to GOI’s founders, “extends all over Spain, allowing us to cover any corner of Spain, from large cities to small towns”.

The company GOI, a logistics operator focused on the transport of bulky goods, has the aim to become the industry leader within the heavy and bulky last mile home delivery sector, initially in Spain and subsequently other international markets.

GOI has built the first national distribution network dedicated exclusively to the middle-mile transport, handling and last mile delivery of bulky products.

The differential factor over competitors is that GOI introduces proprietary software to address the unique variables that impact a bulky home delivery and installation. These unique variables are numerous and require identification so that GOI can measure the impact of these variables on the success of the final delivery.

Bulky deliveries are further complicated by the fact that a scheduled delivery date and time needs to be secured with the final consumer to ensure they will be present during delivery. GOI is incorporating technology to improve the efficiency within a sector that is plagued with manual procedures that reduce the effectiveness of delivery teams. It is the combination of a customer focused operations team coupled with in-house technology that will ensure we provide, not only a competitive advantage in terms of service, but an improvement in cost as a result of efficiencies in delivery.

The platform, borned in 2015, was founded by Yaiza Canosa, David Callejon, Alfredo Pérez, Eduardo García, and Nacho Herranz. They decided to called it “GOI” because it comes from Vietnamese where it means “package” of a personal nature and science the majority of what we manage is furniture the word GOI is an appropriate fit.

BUSINESS MODEL

According to GOI founders, the platform follows a model designed to offer a traditional transportation and assembly service utilizing service providers and enhancing the service to the final customer via our technological advantage. This service is tend offered at a cost with a built in margin. Our customers are international retailers, manufacturers and e-commerce sites.

Therefore, what the founders defend is that the project “is innovative in that for the first time we create and entire ecosystem solely focused on improving every aspect of the bulky home delivery sector. We are also incorporating measurement and installation of entire kitchens which requires a significant number of additional variables that are not present in any available software which includes a transportation component”.

INVESTMENT

The company has been launched thanks to a fundraising of 500.000 euros. In addition, it has had one extra round of investment and the majority of it has been spent on further. According to the company’s membership, “we do not have venture capitalists as of yet and the business angels are family offices”.

Their goals stand for “increasing sales and customer integrations while enhancing and launching the next versions of our proprietary software”. They also, will be positioning themselves in the market to enhance the services they currently provide in order to gain a competitive advantage over their competitors.
