GeeksHubs is a geek community that empowers and drives the talent and knowledge of developers in their hubs through specialized training, collaborative events and innovation, in collaboration with companies and the IT industry.

One of the main ways is through training through GeeksHubs Academy, the initiative has an online platform for training courses in Spanish for developers, as well as intensive classroom bootcamps in master’s format, and tailor-made courses for IT departments of companies.

GeeksHubs has never been in an accelerator, but rather acts as one. Thus, in their hubs they carry out events, talks, workshops, training hackathons and mentoring with own professionals and those external to the startups that are part of the community.

Apart from the initial investment by the partners of €35,000, their model and action plan is bootstrapping, to grow on the basis of their sales and resources generated by their products and services. That is why they have not carried out any investment rounds nor do they plan to do so, although they do have the support of the partners of the Alfatec Group, one of the most important consulting and IT groups in Spain, with an international presence through several international offices.

COURSES FOR DEVELOPERS

GeeksHubs Academy’s online platform has more than 30 specialized courses for developers and more than 2,300 users have taken courses in three years.

The first edition of the bootcamps are about to launch, although they already have six open in Spain and Mexico for 15 people each. Chaume Sanchez, CEO and founder of the company, seeks to continue growing in a new city in Spain with their bootcamps, generating new qualified IT professionals for the sector. He also hopes to continue growing in terms of the number of companies that help select tech talent, solving their internal training needs or technological problems to undertake the digital transformation.

And, in line with their mission to defend and empower the IT profession, they have launched the first edition of the CTO Summit, the space for CTOs and professionals from the sector to share knowledge and experiences, being the tech festival (just like in other European countries) that Spain lacks.
