Relendo is an online platform which allows users to rent their personal goods to those around them. Through Relendo it is possible to share and rent products to users residing nearby, in a safe and fun way.

Relendo was created in 2015 as a platform for collaborative consumption that allows individuals within the same area to rent out products, with no deposit needed. Through the app, users can rent, and exchange with other users, products registered in the platform.

SUCCESFUL BUSINESS MODEL FOR A MORE EFFICIENT ECONOMY

It is estimated that there are more than 533,000 million euros invested in items that are not used. Relendo offers an easy, secure and efficient way of giving a new life to underused items, creating a community of people willing to share all kinds of products with others around them. The company contributes towards a more efficient model of consumption, encouraging “smart consumption” and reducing “hyper-consumerism”.

This experience, along with their interest in themes such as sharing economy and resource maximization led them to create Relendo. Its business model is based on charging a transactional fee.

RECOGNITION AND INVESTMENT

The company was the winner of Demium Startups Allstartup, has participated in the Plug&Play Acceleration Program and also won SeedRocket’s Winter Campus in 2015. In the same year, Google voted Relendo as one of the 10 top apps in Portugal and Spain. More recently, in 2017, the company was also a finalist of 4YFN.

In 2016 Relendo participated in a round of investment led by Sitka Capital, which includes experienced investors like Carlos Blanco, Marc Vidal or Carlos Guerrero, raising a total of €157.000. Based in Spain, where it hopes to keep growing, Relendo is also looking into expanding to foreign markets.
