Meep has closed its latest investment round, led by Liil Ventures for a total of 4 million euros. In Liil Venture’s portfolio there are companies such as Cabify, Grin scooters, WhereIsMyTransport – a company recently invested in by Google Ventures -, or the new what3words mapping system.

The pre-existing partners have accompanied the investor leading this round, whose funds will be used to increase Meep’s presence in Spain and to address new projects in the United States, Mexico and Europe. Other priorities will be to develop features never seen before in any of the actors in the current MaaS scene.

“For Meep, this round is a great motivation for us to expand and continue to improve the accessibility of a transport system that has been underused until now,” explains Guillermo Campoamor, CEO of Meep. “To be able to offer a product that improves people’s quality of life and the planet’s health, so that mobility begins to be conceived as an element that adds value to users’ daily lives.”

Meep was born in 2017 with the aim of transforming the mobility paradigm and ending the current congested and disconnected transport system. Its goal is to adapt the existing offer to the real needs of the users through more personalised and efficient routes, integrating the different urban transport operators, both public and private, in a single application.

“Mobility as a Service leaves behind the burden of owning a vehicle and allows the flexibility to choose between different transport modes, based on the user’s needs, creating previously unexplored connections,” adds the CEO of Meep.

So far, Meep had achieved the deployment of its solutions in 4 countries (Spain, Portugal, Malta and Cyprus) and 7 different cities and had closed three investment rounds for a total of 2.1 million euros.
