Jorge Dobón, founder of Demium, announces the launch of Mission Fund I, a new fund with a target size of €35 million focused on investing in the best founders from the earliest stage.
Mission emerges as the natural evolution of 13 years of experience investing in and creating companies from scratch. After supporting more than 250 startups, Demium now consolidates its strategy under a new brand, Mission, and a fund structure designed for the age of AI and automation.
The fund is managed by Jorge Dobón (Managing Partner), and supported by Álvaro Callejo (ex-CEO of Ritmo), Julio Ribes (founder of Swipcar and Holaglow) and Mario Navarro (founder of Triple).
“As the Spanish ecosystem matures, entrepreneurs have increasing options about who they want to partner with. We believe the best founders want a travel companion who knows what they’re going through.”
says Jorge Dobón, Managing Partner of Mission.
The fund aims to invest in around 80 companies, with an average initial ticket of €250,000, reaching up to €2 million in the best companies, and acting in many cases as their first institutional investor.
Their current strategy has led them to invest in the last three years in companies such as Dealcar, Orbital Paradigm, Rauda AI, or Theker. The latter, a robotics and artificial intelligence startup based in Barcelona that develops versatile robots for industrial and logistics environments, stood out last summer with a €21 million round. The company represents the type of opportunities Mission seeks: deep technology, real impact, and founding teams with global ambition.
“Europe needs to reindustrialize, and AI-driven robotics will play a key role. Theker is a great example of the type of companies we want to help scale from the start,” adds Dobón.
Mission Fund I has already begun deploying capital and has made its first investments. The fund also has the backing of a solid base of limited partners, including successful founders and investors who participated in previous funds. Additionally, the Official Credit Institute (ICO) and the Valencian Institute of Finance (IVF) have decided to trust the management team again for this new stage.
The launch of Mission is the culmination of the transition process that led Demium, in 2023, to shift from an incubation model to a direct equity investment model. In its first ten years, Demium incubated companies in more than 14 cities across 8 countries, driving success stories like Citibox, Voicemod, Singularu, Landbot, or Swipcar.
