accelerator Business Factory Aero (BFAero)
  • The Business Factory Aero, promoted by Xunta de Galicia, welcomes companies to its facilities of the Fundación CEL Iniciativas por Lugo.

The accelerator Business Factory Aero, which is part of the Aerospace Pole of Galicia promoted through the Civil UAVs Initiative (CUI) of the Xunta de Galicia, has launched its second call to attract talent and select six new innovative projects related to drones and unmanned vehicles, three for the incubation phase and three for acceleration. The deadline for submission of initiatives will be open until 15 November at 14.00.

Companies and startups in the aeronautical sector throughout Spain that have an innovative idea for the use of unmanned vehicles (airborne and marine) can apply for this program, which has significant support from public entities and multinational companies of reference such as Indra and Babcock.

BFAero offers its accelerated projects a complete plan for the development and launch of its product or service in the local, national and international markets, with a duration of 24 months for the incubation stage and 12 months for the acceleration stage. Thus, startups and selected companies have at their disposal tutorials and mentoring with experts in the sector, access to the facilities and equipment of the CUI, own office and spaces to perform coworking and receive complete training in all aspects that affect their business idea. The projects have technological advice and access to potential international clients. In addition, Indra and Babcock UAVs are available free of charge and bonus flying hours. They will also have the option of obtaining pilot certification.

THE LARGEST AMOUNT OF ECONOMIC SUPPORT IN EUROPE

BFAero is the accelerator of this sector with the largest amount of economic support in Europe. The projects admitted in the accelerator will have the economic support of Xunta de Galicia. Specifically, they will have access to up to 100,000 euros of non-refundable funding in the incubation phase and up to 50,000 euros in the acceleration phase. In addition, they will apply for INDRA loans (through Indradventures) of between 50,000 and 500,000 euros in incubation and without limit in acceleration. In addition, in the acceleration phase they will have access to participative loans of up to 250,000 euros from Xesgalicia.

All this makes BFAero an avant-garde initiative, not only because of its promoter team, leader in the sector, but also because it is the incubator-accelerator of the aeronautical sector that foresees the largest investment per project not only in Spain, but in all of Europe, duplicating its support in the incubation phase to the homologous initiatives better equipped in other locations.

The Business Factory Aero, promoted by Xunta de Galicia, welcomes companies to its facilities of the Fundación CEL Iniciativas por Lugo. BFAero is a team project. To the members of Xunta, which include IGAPE, Xesgalicia and Axencia Galega de Innovación (GAIN), are added relevant collaborators to ensure the success of the initiative: leading tractor companies in the sector as Indra or Babcock, small and medium enterprises relevant for their knowledge or technologies, collaborating entities such as CTAG or the Galician Aeronautical Consortium and knowledge generators such as the three Galician Universities.
