Boxmotions closes a new round of 2.4 million euros

Boxmotions
  • Spain is still the market in which there is less internet penetration, with only 15% of self-storage operators showing prices on the web and in their reservation process.
  • The past 2019 has been a good year for the storage sector in Europe, with a growth of 13% in one year.

Boxmotions starts the year by closing a new capital increase of 2.4 million euros, led by Fitalent (Venture Capital of Everis), Castel Capital and Finaves, Inveready, Athos, The Crowd Angel and Media Digital Ventures.

The technology company of smart storage, created in Barcelona by Pol Karaso and Àlex Corbacho, both aeronautical engineers, has been revolutionizing the sector ‘self-storage’ or the concept of traditional storage since 2017, and now inside and outside Spain. This new round of funding will be used as a resource to continue expanding in Spanish territory, starting the operation in Valencia and consolidating the market of Barcelona and Madrid. In addition, the internationalization of the company will also consolidate, continuing growth in Paris (second largest market in Europe), where Boxmotions is already serving since September 2019.

TECHNOLOGY FOR URBAN LIFE OPTIMIZATION

Boxmotions develops and optimizes its own technology every day, which allows them to call themselves the intelligent storage of the market. Unlike conventional self-storage warehouses, the Spanish start-up conquered the most demanding users by avoiding physical displacement to their storage room, heavy load and even the assembly and disassembly of their furniture.

Boxmotions collects the belongings on-demand and returns the items that the user manages online thanks to the photo catalog of their stored items, achieving an integrated service up to 15% cheaper than a traditional self-storage.

EUROPEAN INTELLIGENT STORAGE

The past 2019 has been a good year for the storage sector in Europe, with a growth of 13% in one year, reaching practically 4300 centers throughout Europe, according to the annual report of FEDESSA (Federation of Europe Self-Storage Associations).

Particularly in Spain, there has been a growth of +18% in number of centers, consolidating itself as the third market in Europe after the UK and France, a market in which Boxmotions began its operation recently. Even so, Spain is still the market in which there is less internet penetration, with only 15% of self-storage operators showing prices on the web and in their reservation process. In this context, Boxmotions’ digital and intelligent storage proposal improves transparency with a completely comprehensive service for the customer.

“This new round is also an opportunity to continue close to our goal; Organize the quality of urban life in ‘smart’ cities, changing the relationship we have with our physical things through technology and thanks to it, making our users lives easier and more comfortable.” says Pol Karaso, co-founder of Boxmotions. Also, Karaso indicates “We have formed a multidisciplinary team with an innovative vision, we seek to guarantee and provide for current and future generations; the best technological storage service with flexible space, easy management ‘in the cloud’ and great affordability for all types of users optimizing their living conditions in various cities ‘smart’ and in the world”.

SMART AND SATISFIED USERS

In the last year, Boxmotions closed with a 4.8/5 rating of its service, indicating the high satisfaction of its users and they successfully served more than 1800 users saving their articles ‘without leaving the couch’. In addition, they were nominated in South Summit Madrid 2019 top ten Consumer Solutions category, winners and only storage company awarded in innovation at the 4YFN 2018 congress of Mobile World Congress, where they returned in 2019 to deliver the new award and expose their current progress, partnership projects with other companies and new B2B market strategy.
