The Spanish startup Fabbric, recognized for digitizing the processes of creating and developing fashion collections, has announced the closing of a €1.25 million seed investment round, representing an important step in its ambitious roadmap. This funding round was once again led by Hans(wo)men Group, a family office based in Austria that had already participated in the company’s pre-seed round. Johann ‘Hansi’ Hansmann, the investor behind Hans(wo)men Group, has an impressive track record with 5 major exits: Runtastic, Shpock, Mysugr, Durchblicker, Busuu and Myclubs to his name. Additionally, other investors who participated in the first round have also decided to support Fabbric’s growth in this new phase.
A highlight of this round is the inclusion of Venture Hub, an investment firm led by the well-known investor Mathieu Carenzo, further boosting Fabbric’s credibility and appeal in the startup ecosystem. In addition to the main investors, this funding round saw participation from La Vida Es Chula, the family office of Thomas Meyer, CEO and founder of Desigual, as well as ROI Ventures, an Austrian capital group with experience in driving innovative startups. Notable investors such as Peter Stebe, a former entrepreneur, have also joined the round.
Alba Rocafort, co-founder and CEO of Fabbric, expressed her excitement about this new phase for the company: “Leading this funding round has been an exciting experience, with a steep learning curve. It hasn’t been an easy journey, but closing a round of this magnitude is a significant milestone for us as it allows us to scale faster with our new tech platform allowing people to create their fashion brand in 20 minutes”
Rocafort also emphasized the importance of having industry experts who have decided to invest in Fabbric, which not only validates their vision but also provides key strategic connections to accelerate the company’s growth: “The most important thing we’ve learned on this journey is the need to surround ourselves with the best people, those who believe in the project and share our vision. Our first major step has been to expand the tech team, ensuring that we have the best talent to continue innovating.”
Johann Hansmann explains “We’re proud to have supported Fabbric from the start and thrilled to see how rapidly they are scaling their business while revolutionizing the industry”
Create your clothing collection in minutes
The announcement of this funding round coincides with the launch of the new version of the Fabbric platform, which allows users to create and develop fashion collections in minutes. The new platform optimizes fashion design and production processes by digitizing an industry that has historically been manual and traditional. Fabbric offers a unique solution that not only simplifies the work of designers and brands but also democratizes access to fashion, making it available to everyone regardless of experience or available resources.
“Our vision is to become the market leader in Spain for fashion collection development, and this new platform is a crucial step toward achieving that,” added Rocafort. The platform is designed to be scalable, with the goal of offering functionalities that facilitate not only the creation but also the comprehensive management of fashion collections, including everything from material selection to production and logistics.
Additionally, Fabbric has been selected as one of the 12 European startups founded by women to participate in the Rocket Up (Supernovas) program of the European Institute of Technology. This program aims to promote the international expansion of women-led startups. For Fabbric, this is a significant endorsement of its growth strategy, as the company plans to begin its international expansion in early 2025, starting with key markets in Europe.
“Rocket Up is providing us with tools and connections to plan our entry into new markets. We are very excited about what the future holds and are confident that we will be able to take our disruptive model to a global scale,” commented Rocafort.
With a focus on digitization, Fabbric has positioned itself as an innovative solution in the fashion sector. By digitizing processes that have traditionally been manual, the startup facilitates the creation of fashion collections in a fraction of the time these processes used to take. The platform allows designers to focus on creativity while Fabbric handles the rest, from material selection to production management and suppliers.
This disruptive approach, combined with its recent funding round and the expansion of its tech team, positions Fabbric to lead the future of digital fashion in Spain, and soon in Europe.
New features to democratize fashion
Fabbric’s newly launched platform incorporates new features designed to democratize fashion by providing tools that were previously only available to large brands. One of the most innovative features is the weekly development of new trending patterns based on the latest market trends and user suggestions. Additionally, it offers a personalized selection of colors and fabrics, eliminating the need for clients to source materials on their own, which guarantees superior quality. The platform also enables design customization through advanced printing techniques, tailored to each client’s specific needs. With a minimum order of just 100 units, Fabbric facilitates production to meet the needs of emerging brands. Other features include the addition of personalized brand labels ready for final sale and a focus on sustainable on-demand production, avoiding the waste of unsold products. The platform ensures direct access to factories with real-time updates, allowing clients to maintain constant control over their orders and receive instant production status notifications.
