Teaming, the social platform that supports humanitarian causes with donations of just one Euro

Teaming
  • Teaming takes its name from the word “team”. "Since the donations are small (1 Euro), it is not the individual that makes the difference but rather many people coming together.
  • The platform has received several awards, such as the prize for the best charitable initiative in 2011 from the Zapping Awards.
  • It is also available throughout the eurozone, especially in France, Italy, and Germany.

Teaming is a platform where anyone can help a social cause for just 1 Euro a month. In the same way, any NGO, company, or individual can raise funds for a social cause completely free of charge. This social platform was founded in 2011 by Antonio González-Barros and Fritz Hoderlein (Grupo Intercom and everis respectively) based on the original idea by Jil Van Eyle which was already being developed offline.

After the launch of the project in 2012, the platform has received several awards, such as the prize for the best charitable initiative in 2011 from Zapping Awards; Finalists E-Awards Barcelona 2013; as well as, the Employment Fair in the Digital Age 2016 award from Ayuda, among others.

Teaming takes its name from the word “team”.”Since the donations are small (1 Euro), it is not the individual that makes the difference but rather many people coming together. This is basically teams of people coming together and working together to achieve the same goal: to help others,” explain the two founders of the platform.

BUSINESS MODEL

On the one hand, like other platforms, Teaming uses the “tip” model. It has its own Teaming group, where people can make donations of one Euro a month for the maintenance of the platform. It also has the support of different companies.

The main market in which the startup develops its activity is Spain. However, it is also available throughout the Euro zone, especially in France, Italy, and Germany.

INVESTMENTS

The Teaming platform was launched with a half a million Euro budget, the founders claim. Indeed, this platform is a foundation, so it works a little differently. Each year the board of trustees contributes approximately 60% of the funds required by the foundation.

With this, one of the objectives of Teaming is to prepare the foundation for internationalization in terms of scalability and to increase growth in Spain.
