Discocil, a Valencian startup specialised in developing management software for nightlife events, raises 250,000€ on its second investment round in order to achieve their expansion project once the pandemic allows.
In this capital injection they have 3 new partners. The industrial investment fund Archipelago Next, with participation from the 15 leading companies in the Canary Islands; DAS Audio, an international Valencian company with more than 40 years of history, specialised in the manufacture of professional sound equipment and with offices in Miami, Singapore, Sao Paulo and Shanghai and a group of ex-employees from different areas of Ticketbis (a ticketing platform sold to eBay in 2016 for 165 million euros according to various sources) represented by Unai Carmona, ex-CFO of the company.
Likewise, Draper B1 reinforces its confidence in Discocil by reinvesting in this round after contributing 100,000 Euros in the first one. Lanzadera has also revalidated its commitment to Discocil for the coming months by including the project in the acceleration programme.
“We have gained the support of major strategic partners who know the sector and will make us grow faster both in Spain and worldwide,” said Discocil’s CEO, Alberto Centeno.
“Far from standing still in this situation, we have developed new functionalities so that our clients could more than comply with the health protocols imposed by public institutions during the summer. We are very happy with our work as we have shown that nightlife supported by technology creates a safer environment than the one we could find in the metro during rush hour. To date, no business managed with Discocil has had any outbreaks or infections during its events. The need for digitalization that the sector needs and the advantages that our management software brings to the promoters is what has attracted the attention of investors and potential clients”explains Centeno.
The tool developed is an event management software that helps promoters to improve the managing of their companies by allowing them to: process reservations, sell tickets online, obtain performance data in real time and integrate all their sales channels into a single application. With these functionalities they manage to obtain higher profit margins in their businesses. They have also developed specific functionalities that would help the sector to comply with any health protocol against covid, such as tracing and processing the information of the attendees in all events.
“Until now, the added value that a promoter obtained by working with Discocil was to optimise its internal processes and increase the profitability of its events. After the COVID-19, we have focused on providing security to promoters, local authorities and attendees” added the CEO.
