Fundación Universidad Carlos III de Madrid raises 62,000 euros in three days to manufacture ICU ventilator

  • Among all the initiatives included in contraelcoronavirus.org, 400,000 euros has already been exceeded.
  • Once the two prototypes have been manufactured, they will be tested and validated in animals.

The Fundación Universidad Carlos III de Madrid has raised in just over two days around 62,000 euros thanks to a fundraising campaign, to finance a project to design and manufacture two prototype ventilators for the ICU, in collaboration with the Artificial Circulation Lab of the Gregorio Marañón Hospital.

The funds raised will be set aside entirely to the purchase of the material, as well as the manufacture of the necessary parts for the respirators. Once the two prototypes have been manufactured, they will be tested and validated in animals, as an essential step for their implementation in humans. Once all the necessary requirements have been exceeded, it will be mass-produced, thus helping to meet the urgent needs of the Spanish hospital network.

The successful campaign promoted by the Fundación Universidad Carlos III de Madrid is part of the solidarity project against coronavirus.org, a website that brings together 30 projects aimed at fighting against the adverse effects of the coronavirus. Among all the initiatives included in contraelcoronavirus.org, 400,000 euros has already been exceeded. This solidarity website is an initiative of StockCrowd Technologies.
