Healthtech Startup MediQuo Raises €1.5m Seed Round

mediQuo, the medical chat application where users can chat 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, with doctors and specialists, has secured a €1.5 m seed round, led by VC firm Target Global, with Family Offices and expert partner joining the round. Earlier investors include Albert Castells and José López, founders of iSalud.com, and Leandro Sigman, chairman of Insud Pharma.

Founded by Guillem Serra, a physician, mathematician and founder and investor in multiple startups, MediQuo has established itself as the leading health communication platform, ranking among the top 3 apps within the health marketplace in countries such as Spain, Argentina, Peru, Chile and strengthening its presence in the rest of Latam and the United States. The focus is on becoming the leading health platform for medical communication and remaining 100% confidential between health consultants and users.

Within one year, mediQuo has reached more than 140,000 downloads on Android and iOS, with 4.5 out of 5 rating (according to more than 2,200 users). It also has clocked over 145,000 medical consultations.

mediQuo works in a very simple way, such as WhatsApp. After downloading the application for free, users can chat directly to a doctor or other professional from different specialties (pediatricians, gynecologists, cardiologists, psychologists, nutritionists, sexologists and personal trainers, among others) with chats being answered in less than 2 minutes. Consultations are unlimited and it allows users to exchange photos, diagnostic tests and medical forms to facilitate diagnosis. App login and unlimited consultations of certain specialties are completely free for the user.
