  • The Official Medical Association of Barcelona will welcome the most innovative startups and investors specialized in the health sector

On November 15, the 23rd Healthcare Barcelona Investment Forum will be held at the CoMB headquarters, with the aim of putting in contact entrepreneurs and start-ups in the health sector with investors. Since its creation, in 2009, the Healthcare Barcelona Investment Forum has consolidated as a reference meeting point in the Catalan biomedical ecosystem, promoting innovation and entrepreneurship.

The startups that participate in the Forum are in the early stage companies seeking to receive capital to continue developing their projects. Through a project selection committee, formed by members of the organizing entities, the 10 best projects were selected. They will be given the opportunity to pitch their companies at the Healthcare Investment Forum of Barcelona.

An example of the startups selected to present in this edition of the Forum is NOS Life Sciences, a company formed by Spanish scientists that have developed a new product called Lipea ™ that has the potential to substantially improve the quality of life of patients suffering from the disease of Parkinson. Lipea ™ can reduce dyskinesia by 48% and disease progression by 79%. “After filing a patent, we are very excited to participate in the Healthcare Barcelona Investment Forum where we seek to get in touch with investors to complete our financing round of 1 million euros,” says Pablo Inones, CEO of the company.

Other companies participating in the Healthcare Forum this year are Pharmacelera, dedicated to the development of software and hardware to reduce the experimental cost of the creation of new drugs, Tractivus, a biotechnological startup dedicated to the creation of personalized medical devices or Able Human Motion, company dedicated to the development of a cheaper and lighter exoskeleton to be able to offer it to households and not only to hospitals.

We will have to wait until November 15 to discover the other participating companies and the interest aroused by investors. To date, the startups that have exhibited in the Forum, subsequently, directly or indirectly, have managed to raise a total investment figure of 60 million euros.
