AuthUSB closes its first round of investments with Marine Instruments as lead investor

AuthUSB is a company specialized in the development of cyber security solutions, it has just received crucial support for its corporate trajectory.

Earlier this month the annexation of three new partners was signed: Marine Instruments, globalleader in the development and fabrication of electrical equipment adapted to the marine environment. In the last few years the company has advanced a strategy concerning the diversification towards sectors such as aquaculture or security and defence. In this round it is joined by Xesgalicia, the venture capital entity connected to the regional Galician government. It is focused on supporting the growth of the Galician industrial fabric, via its Galicia Iniciativas Emprendedoras fund. VigoActivo, a venture capital entity invested mainly by the Zona Franca de Vigo consortium, also joined in this investment round. This company fosters the renewal of the Galician industrial fabric opting for innovative projects in sectors with emergent technologies.

This is the first round of investment for authUSB S.L, in which it has been advised legally and strategically by Pablo Taboada Villamil (Taboada Law Firm). He has been associated with the company since its beginnings.

This capital contribution will be used for the consolidation of the company and for the opening up of new markets, amongst other items.

authUSB S.L. is an innovative company within the cyber security sector which has developedSafeDoor an unique solution in the market. This solution offers, to both user and organizations, protection against the three levels of attack that can happen via an USB device. It also offers the possibility of managing and auditing the USB devices and its internal and external content. Furthermore, it also permits the possibility of updating computer equipment by means of safe and reliable USB devices. (Industry environment, OT networks, IT networks) integrated in isolated nets, with or without connectivity.

The investment is an endorsement of the milestones achieved by the society since its foundation in 2018, highlighting amongst them the presence of SafeDoor in the market, with clients present in both the private and the public sector (defense, public administrations, and critical infrastructures)

SafeDoor possesses the Lince certification, awarded by the National Cryptologic Centre (CCN, in Spanish). This certification assess SafeDoor as a TIC product that treats information securely. Moreover, authUSB is included in the CPSTIC catalogues (linked to the CNN), and in the Incibe and DEGAM ( Directorate general of armaments) catalogues. It is also a supplier included inOTAN’s BOA List

In the acknowledgments section, in 2019, authUSB, was one of the winners of the Incibe CiberSecurity Ventures and, previously, in 2018, it was bestowed the award to the best cyber security product in Spain by Security Forum, granted because of the development of SafeDoor.Furthermore, its CEO Estefanía Soto has been included in the list “Women entrepreneurs ofreference in Spain in 2020” compiled and published by the newspaper “El Referente” in June2020.
