The Spanish legaltech startup Emérita Legal dedicated to the analysis of judicial data with AI technologies, has managed to close a new round of investment for 260,000€ in the midst of the Covid-19 crisis and in little more than 1 month.
The capital raised, with the participation of investment funds SociosQ and ArchipélagoNext as well as the majority of pre-existing investment partners, will be used to consolidate this Legaltech firm as the leading provider of information on Spanish lawyers and law firms. The first steps have also been taken for expansion into Italy.
Emérita Legal ranks professionals and law firms according to their judicial performance, by analysing millions of court cases and applying advanced statistical algorithmic techniques. This is the first system to provide an objective and independent evaluation of lawyers and law firms.
“Through Emérita Legal, lawyers obtain third party verification that their clients can trust and that demonstrates from the outset that they are the right expert for a given case. And not because Emérita says so, but because the data says so. We demonstrate a lawyer’s specialization, experience and effectiveness with judicial data,” says Antonio Padín-CEO of Emérita Legal.
The closing of this round is accompanied by the launch of a Law Firm Ranking product. Like the lawyer ranking, it aspires to become the most objective European-wide rating system, and seeks to provide greater transparency to the sector by making it possible to compare the quality of law firms based on the degree of effectiveness demonstrated by their team of professionals.
In its first year on the market, this Legaltech startup has managed to organically attract more than 1 million unique users to its website and its unbiased ranking has already analyzed the performance record of practically every Spanish lawyer through more than 8 million reviewed court cases. Now Emérita Legal aims to establish itself as the reference in Spain, while continuing its international expansion.
