Founded by Albert Castells and Jose López in 2010, iSalud.com is the leading health insurance comparison site in Spain. Users can compare prices and coverage of the top insurance companies and quickly and easily subscribe an insurance policy either online or by phone by talking to one of the more than 60 advisers.

It offers a lot more than just insurance comparison, such as a 100% online purchase process, 24-hour medical chat, significant pharmacy discounts and preventive health plans, etc. This thorough value proposition that goes far beyond a comparison website is what has helped the company achieve constant growth during the last 8 years. The insurance companies that currently collaborate with the company include Adeslas, Sanitas, Asisa, DKV, Mapfre, Axa, Fiatc and Asefa.

In 2018 the company reached a collaboration agreement with Kelisto, the multiproduct comparison website that helps consumers save money. The collaboration means that Kelisto users can compare and subscribe health insurance at competitive prices and with renowned insurance companies without leaving the Kelisto website.

OBJECTIVES FOR THE COMING MONTHS

The company that currently only operates in Spain launched with €30,000, which was contributed by the founders. In 2013 Inveready invested €500,000 in the company via venture debt and a small equity ticker (3%). iSalud.com used this money for growth and team development.

Two years later, a €500,000 media for equity agreement was reached with Mediaset, which was spent on a TV campaign to increase brand awareness. And most recently, CNO Partners acquired 60% of iSalud.com for €30 M. This investment is to go towards consolidating growth and expansion in the Spanish market and becoming the benchmark company in insurtech.

The company aims to reach a €65 M turnover and increase its team to 150 people. Another objective is developing its strategic partnership portfolio.
