In 2012, Juan Sánchez-Herrera, Patricia Ratia & Marta Nicolás founded SamyRoad, an Influencer & Content Marketing trend content platform, leader in Europe and Latin America, which allows users to keep up to date with their passions: fashion, music, art, adrenaline, etc.

For the founders, the name means a way to follow their own passions and is expressed with the slogan ‘Hundreds of roads at your feet’. In addition, it is a timeless, genderless and universal word that eventually convinced its creators.

The quality of the content is assured, since it is created by a community of trendsetters in the different areas and has a team made up of digital marketing experts who take advantage of technology to conceptualize and execute content and influence campaigns.

In this way, SamyRoad helps its clients reach their marketing goals through confluence (the power of content and influence), offering them a comprehensive solution composed of several factors such as strategy and creative concept, identification of influential people, content production and delivery, performance analysis, among others.

MODUS OPERANDI

The user selects their passions, so they are offered only content related to their interests and can buy the products that are for sale on the platform. In addition, users can follow other users and create capsules to organize the content. It also has an application for mobiles, more focused on consuming content than creating it, since from anywhere you can scroll down in the Home page of the application and spend a good half hour looking at varied content such as the top images, the top videos, songs and playlists, events that are launching, the latest posts of the most related bloggers, products that you want to buy and gift, and the best places in each city.

INVESTMENT AND INTERNATIONAL EXPANSION

SamyRoad closed its first seed round in 2013 for €50,000 and, after this, made three additional rounds with a value of more than €4M in total. Thanks to this, they invested the capital mainly in the development of their product, a Shinebuzz tool, and their international expansion plan, which continues to be one of their main objectives for this year with the entry into France and Latin America. Currently, the company has offices in Madrid, Lisbon, CDMX, NYC, Buenos Aires, Paris and Zurich, operating in more than 30 countries around the world.

Its main investors include Caixa Capital Risc, the Bvlgari family, Inveready, Sabadell Venture and several business angels (i.e. Jesús Olmos), and some of the awards obtained to date are Youtube Pulse Awards for the L’Oréal Paris campaign (2017), CDTI certification (2017), M&P Portugal for the FOX campaign (2018), Tech 5 (2018), among others.

PHILOSOPHY OF SOLIDARITY

SamyRoad, in accordance with its philosophy, collaborates with charity projects. Therefore, the commissions generated through the sales of the marketplace are distributed between the user who has recommended the product and the charity project that the user chooses.
