CARTO, the leader in Location Intelligence, ispleased to announce the appointment of Luis Sanz to the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective immediately.
Luis Sanz has over 10 years of B2B SaaS experience in the technology startup space. He previously co-founded Olapic, where he served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technical Officer. His leadership helped advance the company’s growth strategy, scaling it from a start up to a market leader in the Marketing Tech industry. Olapic was acquired by Monotype in 2016. Sanz holds an MSEE from University of Zaragoza and an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Former CEO and founder, Javier de la Torre, will take a new role as Chief Strategy Officer and will continue to serve on the Board of Directors. “I’ve had the privilege of founding and leading CARTO for 7 years,” De la Torre stated, “which has been extremely rewarding both professionally and personally. I’m incredibly proud of the company we have built and what we’ve accomplished over the years. I believe we are well set up for the next decade of growth with a very exciting future.”
